About this project
At Neessen, the Cultivation gutters containing the strawberry cuttings hang high in the greenhouse. But the work is ideally done low to the ground. Until now, the gutters were hung every year with an aerial platform and later removed again. This is labor intensive and carries safety risks.
Metazet’s new lifting system allows the Gutters to be raised to working height for placing the trays, for example. They are then lifted up so that the cuttings can grow freely downwards. The height remains adjustable during the season and the cultivation surface remains flexible. This makes it possible to combine different crops year-round.
For this project, in addition to the lifting system, Metazet is supplying new FormFlex® NKG Cultivation gutters. These Gutters provide sturdy lateral support to containers and substrate and are widely used in hanging systems. For extra strength, the gutters are made of strip steel 0.8 mm thick, where 0.6 mm is standard.
The project at Neessen shows how a hoistable chute system can contribute to more efficient and safer operations. Metazet is seeing increasing demand internationally for this combination of lifting systems and Gutters, particularly in Asia and the Middle East.

These components were central and made the result powerful. They form the basis of a solution that works and sticks.
