Metazet developed the HDL system with heavy loads in mind. HDL (which stands for Heavy Duty Lift) is ideal for lifting tube tail systems, channels and long beams with a wide range of crops. It is also capable of lifting growing wires in combination with the tube rail and channel system. With HDL, you can make better use of your greenhouse space by growing in liftable channels with a second layer of crops underneath. This system is often used with organic crops, where vegetable crops and soil crops are grown over two seasons, with vegetables in the ground and lettuce on a second layer during the winter, when the channels are lifted up.
This system has a lifting capacity of up to 15 kg per m2 of greenhouse space, which is equivalent to a weight of 150,000 kg per hectare. All components – including the drives, self-braking worm gear casings and the axle tubes – have been carefully designed and fine-tuned by our expert team, so the system is built to last.
In new buildings, the system is integrated into the greenhouse construction, so it is important to discuss your requirements with your greenhouse supplier before manufacturing begins. A lifting axle with steel cables attached is mounted under each bar (greenhouse crossbeam). These axles are connected to electrically powered self-braking worm gear casings. The system is capable of lifting weights equivalent to an approximately 8,500 m2 installation by up to 3.5 metres in height. The system can also be adjusted for installation in existing greenhouses.
HDL enables growers to utilise their available space more effectively and reduces the workload in the greenhouse. This system makes it easy to switch crops and to thoroughly clean and disinfect the system and equipment. And it requires little maintenance, which saves time. The HDL system ensures that your greenhouse structure is not overloaded and reduces the amount of physical labour that your employees need to undertake – making it a sound investment for any grower.
