Because even though we have been the manufacturing company for greenhouse horticulture since 1978, we are still bursting with ambition. We help grow, but are far from growing ourselves. What drives us every day? To be the new standard in cultivation and logistics solutions. By continuing to learn, developing talent and bringing out the best in ourselves and the customer. Together is the strongest construction, we believe in that!
More than 45 years of innovation in horticulture. In 1978 it officially starts for us. To begin with with hooks and brackets for heating systems. Made of metal, that is still in our name. As a supporter of growth, we let growers grow smarter. Meanwhile with many more solutions, want oneself also grow we through the years.
In 1981, Leo van Adrichem comes on board as manager and we continue to grow. Our big breakthrough? The pipe rail system – with our solid pipe rail supports – the basis for further successes. We are developing more innovative products for cultivation and internal logistics, such as cultivation gutters, lifting systems and wire products. Later, logistics solutions such as chain conveyor systems, harvest carts and electric tractors will follow.
Our coat soon becomes too small. In 1991 we moved to Veilingweg in Honselersdijk and in 1998 to our current location at Zwethove business park in Wateringen. Here we have as much as 17,200 m2 at our disposal. Today, at our headquarters in Wateringen alone, you will find more than 75 employees. But because we also want growers outside the Netherlands to benefit from our assortment, we have several branches around the world.
In 2000, we took a stake in FormFlex, leading to the full acquisition in 2010 and the birth of Metazet FormFlex. We are also not sitting still when it comes to leadership. Leo van Adrichem was succeeded in 2008 by Johan ten Veen, who passed the baton to Peter Koot and Dolf van der Hoeven in 2018. Also joining the board in 2022 is Luke van Adrichem. A dynamic trio that sets our course.
The road we have traveled is long. From humble hooks and brackets to globally recognized player in the horticultural industry. But only thanks to collaboration with growers have we grown into the name we are today.
Around 2000 started we with the then Demokas. This was the forerunner of today’s World Horti Center. Nowadays in Kwintsheul we have our own Demo greenhouse and a separate R&D Center where we test our solutions in practice. This way, we and the grower can be sure that what we devise and make also works in the greenhouse.
Metazet stands for smart solutions for cultivation and internal logistics. Around the world, we have had the opportunity to participate in and help build many successful horticultural projects. From customized on-site cultivation systems to logistics solutions for greater convenience and more efficient internal transportation.
Continuously improve crop productivity and efficiency. That’s what we go for every day. Samen with installation companies and the growers themselves. It is precisely because of this strong collaboration that we have become great.
