NXT moves independently through the greenhouse

Autonomous driving in the greenhouse with a platform that is easy to integrate and service

The first applications of robotics in the greenhouse are now becoming visible. Robots are being used for tasks such as harvesting, scouting and crop treatment. More and more often, mobile systems are being used that move independently through the greenhouse.

Metazet developed NXT-Row, an autonomous driving platform that moves through the greenhouse according to predefined routes and automatically switches between growing rows. It forms the foundation for applications such as scouting, harvesting and crop care within vegetable cultivation.

The platform has been developed as an open and flexible foundation. Rather than being focused on one specific application, it is designed as a platform on which different robots and technologies can be built and integrated. Applications can easily be connected and controlled, while NXT-Row provides movement throughout the greenhouse.

NXT-Row is modularly built with separate wheel, bumper and drive modules that are easily accessible and replaceable. The battery pack can also be exchanged quickly, limiting downtime. Electrical systems in the greenhouse remain easily accessible for maintenance and service activities. This allows maintenance to be carried out efficiently and makes the platform serviceable worldwide, without depending on specific specialists.

After years of development, the platform has been fully developed, tested and CE certified. It is now ready for use.
